About me

I have lived outside the United States now for over nine years. When I left to take an overseas teaching job, my intention was to be gone for only ONE year, which is why I put stuff in storage. It was difficult to part with the many items, long-time possessions, and souvenirs accumulated over the past three decades. Yet it was a turning point in my life that has led to incredible adventures.

The first country was Mexico, when I still had a family, pets, and all the ‘stuff’ that I believed was necessary to have a ‘complete’ life. Then life changed drastically, placing me back at square one. After a slippery readjustment period, I took a job in South Korea as an ESL(English as a Second Language) teacher at an elementary, then in a middle school. Next was a move to the tropical island of Guam, where I earned a Master’s Degree in one year, and worked for the department of education. Finally, I decided what I wanted to do was write more than teach, and moved to Bali to write a book.

So borders are something that I do know about, both physically, mentally, and emotionally. There have been walls, obstacles, blockages, and occasionally smooth paths. I want to help you to navigate and overcome the main challenges that I had on the road to discovery of self.
